| Cutchogue Fire District is pleased to announce that they have recently signed a contract to purchase a new 2011 PL Custom ambulance. The new unit will replace the Department's oldest ambulance 8-5-16.
This order culminates a year long process in which the specification committee has spent countless hours designing the unit to best fit the needs of the community we serve and the EMS providers who staff it.
On Monday night, committee members met with salesman Alan Rich of Specialty Vehicle Sales to finalize the blue prints and plans before the ambulance heads to the construction phase.
The vehicle will be built by PL Custom of Manasquan New Jersey, and was sold through Specialty Vehicle Sales of Plainview.
Construction of the new ambulance will begin shortly, and the members of CFD eagerly look forward to taking delivery sometime in the early fall.
Some of the Highlights of the New Ambulance Include:
2011 Chevrolet Chassis with 6.6 liter Duramax diesel engine.
PL Custom Medallion Series Type III Modular Ambulance.
Aluminum Construction
Custom Compartmentalization
LED Lighting
Air horns
Enhanced Safety Striping
More updates will be posted as the project progresses.
The Commissioners and Chiefs would like to Thank all of the members who have dedicated time to this project.
