| On Sunday Morning members of CFD headed to Riverhead to participate in a in a joint training session with the Riverhead Fire Department.
Both departments headed deep into the woods in Calverton Hills to participate in Brush Truck Training.
Firefighters manned 2 brush trucks that included CFD's 8-5-12, and RFD 6-2-21A.
Crews spent over three hours familiarizing themselves with the aspects of fighting brush fires, as well as brush truck operations including winching and chain saw operation.
The crews had the chance to work together and experience different terrains that are unique to the Calverton Hills area in the event of a mutual aid call or future fires such as the recent wildfires that occurred in the Ridge and Manorville areas.
The Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to thank our Brothers from Riverhead for making this training available and for taking the time to share their knowledge with us.
We look forward to more joint trainings in the future.
