| Around 7:30 pm Monday evening, Cutchogue Firefighters assisted the Mattituck Fire Department at the scene of a reported basement fire on North Oakwood Dr in Laurel.
MFD firefighters arrived to find a basement fire in a single story ranch home with heavy smoke quickly filling the residence.
The Cutchogue FD was requested to assist at the scene with a Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) in the event of any firefighter emergenciies.
Mattituck Firefighters were able to quickly locate and extinquish the fire and confine the fire to an small area in the basement.
CFD Firefighters stood by for approximatley 45 minutes before being released.
The Jamesport FD provided a Stand-by engine at Mattituck Firehouse in the event of any other alarms. |
