On Saturday June 11th the Stony Brook University Hospital hosted a special training seminar at the Cutchogue Fire Department for local EMS Providers form around the area.

This seminar was devoted to updating EMS providers in the best practices related to Trauma, Opioid Abuse, Airway Management and the appropriate Utilization of Helicopters for Patient Transport in Suffolk County.

Presenters included several Doctors and experts in the field of medicine and emergency care.

The seminar concluded with a presentation and visit from the Suffolk County Police Aviation Unit that landed on the Fire Department Grounds.

Over 40 EMS providers from throughout the area attended the seminar that afforded them valuable information and continuing education credits (CME) toward their re certification.

The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to Thank the Staff of Stony Brook Hospital, and EMS Director Steven Slovensky for providing this valuable training.
