Recently, two CFD Volunteers completed courses in Emergency Medical Training and received New York State Certifications as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).

In order to obtain their certifications each student had to participate in both classroom and clinical sessions that accumulated to over 160 hours of total time. Generally, these classes were held two nights a week with many additional nights spent studying and practicing skills.

After several months of grueling classroom training, each of the students had to pass practical and written examinations given by New York State that tested their medical skills and knowledge.

The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate our newest EMS providers:

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)

James Burns
T.J. Behr

The CFD is proud of their accomplishments. We wish them the best of luck with their new certifications.
