December 16, 2017

On Saturday and Sunday, December 16th and 17th members of CFD took another step closer towards placing our new truck in service.

Over the course of the 2 full days, 25 members participated in special training provided by the trucks manufacturer, Spartan Emergency Response.

The training was conducted by Mark Hansen, the company's aerial apparatus trainer.

Members participated in both classroom and hand-on training that was designed to familiarized the members with all aspects of operations of the new truck.

The new truck has many new features when compared to the 30 year old truck it is replacing.

Most notable is that in addition to traditional engine company equipment, the new truck also has a 75' aerial. This will allow the truck to also function as a ladder truck when needed.

As this is first aerial device in the Department's history members will continuing to train and become proficient on the new truck, as we look to officially place it in service in the near future.

Special thanks to Mark Hansen of Spartan for sharing your knowledge with us, and to the Board of Fire Commissioners for the continued support of this project.
