On Saturday afternoon Cutchogue Firefighters along with firefighters representing over 20 other fire departments participated in the Greenport Fire Department's 174th annual George Washington's Birthday Parade.

Regardless of the weather, this annual parade has been held every February for the past 174 years, as firemen march proudly through the streets of Greenport.

With the day's temperatures in the 40's, at the start of the parade, 25 CFD firefighters along with the CFD Ladies Auxiliary took to the streets led by the CFD Marching Band.

Following the parade, all the participants gathered at the Greenport Firehouse for refreshments and homemade clam chowder made by the Greenport FD.

Thank you to the CFD Fire Police squad, who along with other North Fork Fire Departments provided Fire Police units to assist with traffic control throughout the parade route so that the Greenport members could participate in their hometown parade.

Thank you to everyone who turned out for the Day.
