On Monday April 21st, the Southold Town Fire Chiefs Council held their regular meeting and Annual Elections at the Cutchogue Fire Department.
The Association is comprised of all of the 8th and 10th division Fire Departments that includes Orient, East Marion, Greenport, Southold, Cutchogue, Mattituck, Plum Island, Fishers Island, and Shelter Island.
On Wednesday evening at 9:49 p.m., The Cutchogue Fire Department was activated for a possible structure fire in a home located at 1077 New Suffolk Rd. in Cutchogue.
The homeowner called 911 after arriving home to discover that he had smoke inside his home.
While responding additional information was provided by STPD communications that the caller was reporting a fire in his basement.
On Tuesday night, 25 of Cutchogue's Bravest once again traveled to the Suffolk County Fire Academy Yaphank for live fire training. The firefighters participated in the "Taxpayer" drill.
