On Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. crews from the Cutchogue Fire Department covered the Mattituck Fire District in order for the members of Mattituck Fire Department attended their annual installation dinner dance.
CFD staffed an ambulance and an engine crew that spent the evening at the Mattituck Firehouse in the event of any alarms.
While in Mattituck, crews handled (1) call for service when they were dipatched to a reported "Mailbox on fire" on Aldrich lane at 11:00 pm.
CFD units arrived to find the mailbox fire was extiguished by a neighbor just prior to arrival. The crew returned back to the Mattituck firehouse a short time later.
CFD crews had an enjoyable evening of comradery and a hope that our brothers and sisters of MFD were able to enjoy the night.
The members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate all the new officers of the Mattituck Fire Deparment including new elected Chief Samuel Bail, 1st Asst. Chief Jason Haas, 2nd Asst. Chief Vincent Tirelli Jr., as well as all of the night's award winners.
We wish them well in the coming year and look forward to working with them in the future.
