On Saturday Morning members of the Cutchogue Fire Department stood by in support a Polar Plunge held at New Suffolk Beach.
The "Freezin for a Reason’ Polar Plunge is fundraiser for North Fork Cheer Booster Club. Booster club athletes and other supporters plunged to raise money for competition season travel expenses .
Additionally proceeds from Baked Good Sales and refreshments at the event raised money to be donated to St. Jude Children's hospital.
The CFD Rescue Squad staffed an ambulance to stand-by in case there was any medical emergencies at the beach while members of the CFD water rescue team staffed the Department' s (2) Boats on the water during the event along side the Southold Town Police Marine unit.
Under our watchful eyes, a large group of participants entered the cold waters of New Suffolk, only to quickly exit..
CFD was proud to help support this event.
We wish the best of luck to the group from North Fork Cheer in the upcoming competition season. |
