Funeral Announcement: Firefighter, Paul A. Kapustka has answered his last alarm.

It is with deep regret and sorrow that the Chiefs of the Cutchogue Fire Department, announce that Firefighter, Paul A. Kapustka has answered his last alarm.

Paul Passed away this morning at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer.

He joined CFD in 1979 and remained an active member through 2005 before going on the inactive list.

Paul served as an officer, and was Chief Driver of 8-5-7 1982-1983, Lt. of 8-5-7 1983-1984, and Lt of 8-5-2 from 1985-1987.

He worked for the Southold Town Highway Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator prior to his passing.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold is assisting the family.

The Chiefs, Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to extend our heartfelt condolences his wife Ingrid, son Dylan and all of Paul's friends here at CFD.

Thank You to All the wonderful fireman in Cutchogue for being part of Paulie's funeral. I'm sure he loved it. We're all so lucky to be living in such a great community especially in sad times of losing a loved one. It's never easy. On behalf of Paulie's family. Thank You. Sincerely, Joan Rempe
