On Monday morning the Southold Rotary Club made a special presentation to CFD.

Through the generosity of the Rotarians, CFD has received a special Decontamination / Dis-infecting system for use on our ambulances and other equipment
.
Walter Krupski representing the Southold Rotary club presented Chief Tom Shalvey Jr. with a check for $770.00 that has fully funded the purchase of the system and a supply of dis-infecting fluid.

The system includes a spray gun and needed accessories that will allow special fluid to be sprayed on any potentially contaminated surfaces and equipment in order to sanitize and kill any potential germs and viruses such as COVID-19.

This type of system is particularly important during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as first responders are taking all necessary precautions to help ensure that both the patients and crew members are properly protected.

With this equipment, CFD will now have another layer of protection available at our disposal. We will be able to have our equipment sanitized and returned to service in a timely manner without the reliance of outside contractors and other resources.

Additionally, the Rotary has been recently placing special signs around Southold Town to show their support of all the essential workers in our community.

The Chiefs, Officers, and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to express our sincere gratitude to the members of the Southold Rotary Club and everyone who continues to help us to help you during this trying time.

Thank you for your continued caring and generosity.

We are all in this together!
