Over the past week, members of CFD were asked to be a part of 2 seperate ceremonies that honored our local students.

The first was a special "drive through" moving up ceremony at the Cutchogue East Elementary School held on Tuesday June 16th.

CFD's ladder truck 8-5-3 was asked to display an american flag to honor the students and their families as the teachers and staff honored the accomplishments of the graduating 6th grade class. The drive though symbolized the students move to 7th grade at the Mattituck Junior-Senior High School. These students represent the future class of 2026.

On Thursday, the CFD teamed up with our neighbors to honor the graduating seniors of Mattituck High School's class of 2020.

Organized by parents and friends of the "Class of 2020", a special drive though "block party"reception was held for the seniors at the Mattituck airport. Families and frineds lined the runway as the graduating class paraded down the runway lined by fire trucks and decorated vehicles showing support for the seniors. A large american flag was hung by ladder trucks from the Cutchogue & Mattituck Fire Department ladder trucks at the entrance to the runway to welcome the seniors as they paraded in.

We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique and unusual circumstances for the community. The Cutchogue Fire Department is proud to have been a part of these celebrations and the many other special events, and celebrations that have taken place throughout our community during this trying time.

Congratulations to all of the graduates and best of luck from the members of CFD!

We are all in this together!
