CFD Responds to MVA on Main Rd.

On Wednesday afternoon around 11:49 a.m. the Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 25. near Macari Vineyards in Cutchogue.

Police and Fire Department units arrived to discover a single vehicle accident in which an eastbound car had drifted off the road struck a sign and, then became airborne careening through a hedgerow and struck a flag pole before coming to rest on its wheels.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was able to self extricate himself from the vehicle and was suffering from minor injuries.

The patient was treated by the CFD Rescue Squad and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.

CFD firefighters checked the vehicle for any hazards and stood by on scene for approximately 1/2 hour.
