As the winter weather begins to wind down, let us look back to some warmer weather and the summer activites.

These pictures are part of the collection from Ex-Chief Matthew Martin and show fireman competing in our annual old Fashioned Tournament that was hosted each year until 1997.
For nearly 30 years the Cutchogue Fire Department hosted its annual Old Fashioned Parade and Drill on the firehouse grounds on the third weekend in July.

Following a parade though town, Departments from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties competed in the tournament.

The drill became a popular summer tradition for both the fireman and the community.

Throughout the years the CFD "Panthers" Drill Team competed in many of these drills throughout the State and through the spirit of competition has created many friendships with other Fire Departments that still continue to this day.

The Cutchogue Fire Department is proud of our 93 years of dedicated service to the community. We are always looking for any old & historical articles representing our past for display on our website and in our firehouse.

If any member of the community has any photographs, newspaper clippings or historical artifacts pertaining to the Cutchogue Fire Department, please contact the website team at cutfd@optonline.net or contact the firehouse at 734-6907.

Photos and clippings are able to be scanned and returned to the owners.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to this ongoing project.
