CFD Responds to Morning House Fire

On Monday Morning at approximately 8:00 am volunteers were alerted to respond to a reported structure fire on Alvah's lane in Cutchogue.

The owner of the home dialed 911 when she noticed smoke coming from the rear of her home and found a portion of the house burning..

Upon arrival firefighters found small fire on the exterior deck and wall of the house. The fire began to extended into the interior walls of the home and began traveling upward.

Once on scene Firefighters deployed one handline to extinguish the fire.

There was also moderate smoke condition in the home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters checked the interior, basement, and walls of the home for of any additional fire and utilized exhaust fans to remove the smoke from the house.

Firefighters were on scene for approximately an hour overhauling and ensuring there was no hidden hotspots.

The Fire was not suspicious in nature.
