CFD Voluteers remained busy on Thrursday responding to 4 calls throughout the day.
..
The day began with back to back EMS alarms, at 8:30 a.m. Just after clearing an EMS alarm for a semi-conscious male in front of the King Kullen Store, CFD was alerted to respond for a second EMS alarm in New Suffolk.

Responders arrived to find an elderly male who suffered injuries after falling down a flight of stairs. Because of the mechanism of injury a Suffolk County Police Helicopter was called to transport him to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

The patient was bought to the Cutchogue Fire Department grounds where a safe landing zone was established for the helicopter by an engine and Fire Police Crews from CFD.

Once the Helicopter landed, the was patient transferred and transported to the trauma center for treatment.

Later in the afternoon, CFD volunteers would finish the day by responding to an automatic alarm in the Nassau Point section of the district. The alarm was found to be set off by construction work being performed on site.
