On Monday morning, the members of Cutchogue Fire Department came out to honor those in the United States Armed Forces who gave up their lives for our country.

The officers & members of the CFD, the CFD Marching Band, Ladies Auxiliary, and CFD Juniors marched through the streets of Southold as participants in the Annual Southold Town Memorial Day Parade which was held this year in Southold Village.

The parade began at 11 AM at the corner on Boisseua and Main road and included Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, various school and community groups, and many of our local fire departments.

There were many spectators along the route, many waving small flags and applauding as the participants marched by. The parade continued through the heart of Southold village and concluded at the Griswold-Terry-Glover American Legion Post 803.

After the parade a ceremony was held at the american legion to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women of the US Military who gave their lives so we may continue to enjoy the freedoms of our country.

After the parade, the members of the CFD returned to the firehouse to enjoy an old fashioned barbecue with friends and families.

The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all Veterans of our Nations Armed Forces.

Your devotion to your Country and its Citizens is forever appreciated
