5 Call Wednesday for CFD

On Wednesday CFD responded to a total of 5 alarms throughout the day. 4 of the alarms included 4 consecutive alarms occurring two hour period between 530 pm and 7:30 p.m.

The days alarms included a response to a report of smoke in a home on Grathwohl Rd. in New Suffolk at 7:31pm.

Firefighters arrived to find a moderate smoke condition within the home. The source was traced to a malfunctioning clothes dryer.

Firefighters checked the home for any fire or extension and removed the dryer from the home. An Exhaust fan was used to removed the smoke from the home. Units operated on scene for 40 minutes.

7:34 am - Automatic Fire Alarm: 2nd St. New Suffolk
5:35 pm - EMS Alarm : Vanston Rd. Nassau Point
6:22 pm - Automatic Fire Alarm: Grathwohl Rd. New Suffolk
6:54 pm - Smell of Smoke in the Building - City MD Route 25
7:31 pm - Smoke in a House / Dryer malfuntion - Grathwohol Rd. New Suffolk
