On Friday May 13th the Cutchogue Fire Department was host to the Fire Chiefs Council of Suffolk County regular meeting.

The Fire Chiefs Council of Suffolk County started in 1945 and has been serving the interests of the Fire Service of Suffolk County and their Communities with respect to quality Fire and Emergency Medical Service.

The Council represents the Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs and Ex-Chiefs of the 109 Volunteer Fire Departments and Companies from the 10 Townships in Suffolk County.

The purpose of this organization is to further the interests of the Fire and Emergency Medical Service in Suffolk County and to further all possible improvements to these services with respect to personnel, equipment, structure, operations and finance.

The Council meets the 2nd Friday of every other month (January,March, May, July, September and November) at host Fire Departments across the County. A guest speaker is presented at these meetings on pertinent issues and concerns affecting the Volunteer Fire Service.

Among the guests of the night's meeting was the new Commissioner of the Suffolk County Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) Patrick Beckley who spoke to the membership about current issues facing the fire service in Suffolk County.

The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate Commissioner Beckley and wish him the best in his new position. We were proud to welcome him to Cutchogue for the evening.

Attendees were treated to an enjoyable evening that included a barbecue dinner featuring CFD's Famous Barbecue Chicken.

Thank you president Tom Krikalva and the executive board and to all who made the trip out to the North Fork.

We hope you enjoyed the evening at CFD
