CFD responds to MVA involving a School Bus

On Tuesday Morning at 10:41 a.m. the Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched to respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 25 in Cutchogue involving a school bus.

A school bus was traveling east and decelerated for traffic congestion; when the bus was rear-ended by a 2020 Jeep Compass.

Responders arrived to find that no students were onboard the bus at the time.

Both drivers were evaluated for injuries by CFD EMS Personell.

The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center for further medical evaluation,

While fire police units diverted traffic, Firefighters controlled any leaking fluids and helped to clear debris and vehicles from the roadway.

Crews were on scene for 30 minutes.
