CFD Responds to MVA on Rte. 48

On Thursday afternoon at about 5:30 pm CFD Volunteers responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident on County Route 48 near the intersection of Cox Lane.

Responders found a two car rear end collision with injured occupants.

The collision occurred when an eastbound driver failed to realize traffic was stopped for the traffic light and rear ended a stopped vehicle

The force of the impact forced the one vehicle into a nearby farm field.

A CFD ambulance transported one patient to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Firefighters checked both vehicles hazards and controlled the leaking fluids.

One lane of east bound Route 48 was closed for approximately 30 minutes until the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
