At 11:27 pm Friday Evening, Cutchogue Firefighters were dispatched to assist the Jamesport Fire Department at the scene of a working structure fire on Bayside Avenue in Jamesport.

Police and Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire totally consuming a residence.

The Cutchogue FD was initially requested to stand-by at the Jamesport Firehsouse, but was redirected to assist at the scene.

The crew made the response aboard Engine 8-5-4 and once on scene assisted firefighters operating on the fireground. CFD firefighters helped man several hoselines to help battle the blaze

Additional mutual Aid was called in from the Riverhead, Mattituck, Flanders & Southold F.D.'s who responded to the scene or stood by covering Jameport's district.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Riverhead Town Fire Marshal
