CFD Responds to Shed Fire in New Suffolk

On Sunday Morning at approximatley 9:30 a.m. The Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched for a report of smoke coming from a "Water Shed" on Old Harbor Rd. in New Suffolk.

Contractors working at the home noticed the smoke and dialed 911.

First arriving Police and Fire deparmtent units dicovered a small fire located in a shed on the property.

The shed which dates back to the turn of the century, housed the water pumps and electrical services for the home on the property.

Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire which appeared to be electrical in nature, and waited for PSEG to respond to disconect the utilities to the building.

Units were on scene for approximatley 1 hour.

While operating at his call additional members of CFD also responded to second emergency, a reported EMS alarm.
