Paying Final Respects to a Fallen Hero - FDNY Firefighter William P. Moon II

On Thursday December 29th, CFD members helped paid tribute to FDNY Firefighter William P. Moon II as they joined thousands of mourners attending the his Line of Duty Funeral in Bay Shore.

CFD's Ladder truck 8-5-3 joined with ladders from across the Island to form arches hanging large American flags paying tribute to the fallen hero as his funeral procession proceeded from the funeral home East Islip to the St. Patrick's Church in Bay Shore.

FF Moon was 20 veteran of FDNY, serving in Ladder Co 133, and Rescue Company 2 in Brooklyn.

FF Moon additionally served as a volunteer with the Islip Fire Department where he had served as Chief.

The Chiefs, Officers, and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to express our sincere condolences to the Moon family and our fellow firefighters in the FDNY, and the Islip Fire Department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
