On Thursday March 23rd members of the CFD recruitment committee attended a community service fair hosted by the Mattituck Junior-Senior High School.

Giving back to our community has been a constant theme during the past few years at Mattituck High School. MHS students have the opportunity to graduate with an enhancement on their diplomas signifying the 85 hours of service they choose to give back to the community that so often have given to them.

In an effort to provide our students with resources to assist in their efforts to achieve their community service hours, the Guidance Department at MHS, hosted a Community Service Outreach Fair on Thursday, March 23.

Lieutenants Christian Figurniak and Bryan Zissel set up a table at the 3 hour fair and answered questions and passed out information about community service opportunities here at CFD. Firefighters from Mattituck FD also participated.

Highlighted were opportunities to become a part of our CFD junior Firefighters Program (ages 11-17) and Membership as firefighters and Emergency Medical Technician’s for those over the age of 18.

Roughly 450 students Grades 7-11 attended throughout the fair.

Thank you to all of the students who showed interest in our programs and opportunities.
