Our regular monthly training schedule continued on Thursday night April 18th , focusing Vent Enter Search procedures (VES) as well as window entry and exit skills.

On this night, we covered operations in and around residential windows and survival skills.

The members had to negotiate though a window prop practicing several entry and exit techniques. Firefighters also practiced removing a victim through a window using a ground ladder.

A group of 15 firefighters that included Several of our new probationary members participated in the drill.

Additionally on this night a contingent of 12 members from the CFD Fire Police Squad attending the regular meeting of the North Fork Fire Police Assoc. held in Greenport.

Each month throughout the year we host a variety of in-house training sessions that help us refine our skills. These drills and trainings held at our firehouse are in addition to a schedule of Live-fire & hands on training that is held at the Suffolk County Fire Academy.
