Fire Damages Mattituck Home

On Wednesday Night at approximately 9: 45 p.m. the Cutchogue Fire Department was requested to assist the Mattituck Fire Department at the scene of a working structure fire on Westview Dr. in Mattituck.

Mattituck firefighters arrived a well involved fire in the garage of a one story ranch home.

CFD Provided assistance by responding with a Rapid Intervention team to stand-by at the scene.

The crew made the response aboard Heavy Rescue Truck 8-5-5 and once on scene was reassigned to assist Mattituck Firefighters with the overhaul process.

Quick work by MFD helped to contain the fire to the garage and prevent it from spreading to the main portion of the home.

Mutual Aid was also provided by the Jamesport FD at the scene and Southold FD who provided stand-by coverage at the Mattituck Firehouse.

The residents of the home were able to exit the home once the fire was discovered.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation and is not considered suspicious.
