| On Friday November 14th, the Southold Town Fire Chiefs Council held their annual Ex-Chiefs dinner at the Hellenic Snack Bar in East Marion.
This annual event brings together the Chiefs and Past Chiefs from the area Fire Departments for a night of recognition by the Council.
The Association is comprised of all of the 8th and 10th division Fire Departments including Orient, East Marion, Greenport, Southold, Cutchogue, Mattituck, Plum Island, Fishers Island, and Shelter Island.
The Association meets on a regular basis to foster working relationships between the member departments and address common issues that pertain to the fire service of Southold Town.
This year, 18 Chiefs and Past Chiefs of the Cutchogue Fire Department attended the event hosted by the Greenport FD.
Council President Norm Rielly Jr. of the Mattituck Fire Deparment led the nights festivities that included recognition of the past chiefs in attendance and a special presentations to Ex Chiefs Warren Jensen of Greenport and James Lessard of Mattituck
The Council recognized and thanked Warren Jensen for his 18 years of dedication as a Suffolk County Deputy Fire Coordinator for Southold Town / 8th Division.
Jim Lessard was honored for his continued dedication to the the Southold Town Firefighters / 911 memorial located at Cochran Park in Peconic. Jim was instrumental in the memorials creation and regular upkeep.
Both were presented with plaques by the Council as a token appreciation for all their support throughout the years.
The Cutchogue Fire Department would like to thank the Southold Town Fire Chiefs Council, the Greenport FD and the catering staff of the Hellenic for hosting an enjoyable night.
