| On Tuesday night, 18 of Cutchogue's Bravest once again traveled to the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank for live fire training.
The firefighters participated in the "Car Fire" drill.
This drill simulates several different types of vehicle fires that may occur within our District.
After a short classroom session, firefighters participated in several different evolutions under live fire conditions that tested their skills under the watchful eyes of Suffolk County Fire Academy instructors. Firefighters practiced extinguishing fires in both tractor-trailer and conventional vehicles.
The Cutchogue Fire Department, like many other fire departments in Suffolk County, routinely travels to the Fire Academy several times a year to participate in different training evolutions.
Tuesday marked the final time that CFD traveled to Yaphank this year for live fire training.
The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to thank the instructors and entire fire academy staff for giving us the skills and knowledge to help us protect our community.
We are Thankful for these opportunities. We hope everyone enjoys and has a safe Thanksgiving Holiday.
