| On Tuesday Night April 21st, CFD Firefighters travelled to the academy to participate in the Advanced forcible entry drill. The drill focused on the skills of forcible entry used in unique or different situations. Firefighters utilized both power saws and conventional tools to practice entering or ventilating a secure home or commercial building. Firefighters also practiced in low light and tight spaces. Many of these scenarios are designed to replicate real-life situations that firefighters have occurred throughout our nation. 15 CFD firefighters participated in the training session. The Cutchogue Fire Department like many other fire departments in Suffolk County, routinely travels to the Fire academy several times over the course of the year in order to participate in different training evolutions. Tuesday marked the first of different 6 times that CFD traveled to Yaphank this year for live and hands-on fire training. The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to thank the instructors and entire academy staff and for giving us the skills and knowledge to help us protect our community.
