On Monday evening members of CFD gathered at headquarters to begin training on their newest piece of apparatus.

Recently the CFD took delivery of a brand new tanker to serve the needs of our District.

The new truck that carries 4000 gallons of water, will be utilized in the un-hydranted portions of our fire district as well as remote areas that are now being developed.

Being that this is the first tanker unit in CFD's history, members will be participating in numerous trainings over the next month in order to become familiar and proficient in the units operation.

Monday was the first opportunity for members to learn to use the dump tank or portable pond. Throughout the night members practiced driving, offloading water, and refilling in a simulated tanker shuttle scenario as Engine 8-5-4 drafted from the dump tank.

Some details of the new apparatus are:

2026 Fouts Bros. Tanker
Kenworth Chassis
4000 gallon poly water tank
1500 gpm hale pump
Deck gun
Booster reel
4000 gallon folding portable tank
Rear dump chute
(2) 200 ft. 1" 3/4 preconnect hose lines

The truck is still being outfitted with equipment and will be placed in service in the near future.

Thank you to the Terry Farrell fund for the generous donation of 500 feet of 5 inch hose that help outfit the unit for service. your generosity and dedication to the fire service is truly appreciated.
