| On Thursday Firefighters and EMS personnel participated in a scenario based training as part of our regular monthly training night.
Participants were tasked with removing an injured patient from an elevated position. To simulate an accident / medical emergency at a construction site or rooftop, a dummy was placed on the departments training arch.
Fire and EMS personnel laddered the arch using the departments ladder truck and scaled the ladder to assess and packaged the patient.
Once packaged into a stokes basket the teams practiced several different techniques using ropes and rigging for lowering the patient to the ground.
The drill lasted for 2 hours. |
