| On Monday November 2, 2009 the Southold Mothers' Club made a special visit to CFD to learn about the Fireman of the community.
The group of children and their parents were greeted by Chief Andrew McCaffery and were given the oppurtunity to explore the fire trucks and ambulances in the firehouse.
The children enjoyed learning about the importance of a firefighters turnout gear and special tools that they use. They were shown an Air-pack (SCBA), hoses and even had the chance to see how a Thermal imaging camera works.
As part of their visit, each child was given souvenir t-shirt, coloring book and fire prevention materials to take home with them.
Thank You to the Southold Mothers Club for stopping by to visit with us. |
