| Tonight the members of the United Fire Company began the weeklong preparation for the Department's 52nd Annual Chicken Barbecue to be held on Saturday.
Over the course of this week, CFD members will dedicate many hours of their time to prepare for this "end of the summer event". Nearly 50 members gathered at headquarters to set up the large tent for this years event under the direction of chairpersons Kathie Cibulski and Barbara Domaleski.
For 52 years, the members of United Fire Company No. 1, working side by side with the CFD Ladies Auxiliary have hosted this annual fundraising event.
The sold-out event has grown since its beginning to now serve over 3200 people, and is believed to be Long Island's Largest Chicken Barbecue. |
