On Saturday Afternoon, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department were invited to be a part of a special Dedication ceremony held by the East Marion Fire Department.

The East Marion Fire Department was formally dedicating two new pieces of apparatus that placed in service in 2013. These new pieces of apparatus consisted of a new Rescue-Engine and a multi-use pick-up / brush truck.

As part of the days festivities a traditional wet-down held to officially "christen" the new trucks.

A wet-down is a long standing fire service tradition where neighboring departments are invited to bring apparatus to officially welcome the new trucks into service by showering them with water.

CFD engine 8-5-3 along with trucks from the Orient, Greenport, and Southold Fire Departments participated in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony all of the participants and guests were invited to a picnic and barbecue on the firehouse grounds.

The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate the members of the East Marion Fire Department on their latest acquisitions, May they bring you many years of safe service.

Congratulations from CFD.
