Over the past several months, several CFD Volunteers completed courses in Emergency Medical Training and received New York State Certifications as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)and Emergency Medical Technicians Critical Care (EMT-CC).

In order to obtain their certifications each student had to participate in both classroom and clinical sessions. Generally, these classes were held two nights a week with many additional nights spent studying and practicing skills.

In particular, the EMT-CC curriculum requires a total of over 370 hours in order for students to receive a certification as an Advanced Life Support Provider.

After several months of grueling classroom training, each of the students had to pass practical and written examinations given by New York State that tested their medical skills and knowledge.

The Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate our newest Advanced Life Support provider:

Emergency Medical Technician Critical Care (EMT-CC)

Lt. Kenneth Burns

The CFD is proud of their accomplishments. We wish him the best of luck with their new certifications.
