On Tuesday morning the Cutchogue Fire Department responded to an EMS alarm for a female who suffered injuries from an industrial accident.

While working on a machine at a local business her arm became lodged in the machine causing a severe laceration and bleeding.

Because of the nature of the injury, the patient was flown by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

A landing zone was established at the firehouse grounds where the the helicopter landed and the patient was transferred.
