Mutual Aid: CFD Responds to Jamesport Condo Fire

On Thursday afternoon, the Cutchogue Fire Department along with other North Fork Departments were dispatched to assist the Jamesport Fire Department at the scene of a working fire in a condominum complex.

Jamesport fireifghters were on battling a blaze at the Maidstone Landing development on located on Sound Avenue in Jamesport. Because of the volume of fire and the need for an additional water supply, Mutual Aid was requested for tankers and additional engines to establish a hose relay.

The Cutchogue Fire Department was initially requested to provide and engine to the scene and shortly after initial dispatch was additionally requested to provide a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) to stand-by at the scene in the event of any firefighter emergencies.

Both Engine 8-5-4 and Heavy Rescue 8-5-5 responded to the scene.

Once on scene 8-5-4 staged in the long driveway in preparation to form a hose relay from Sound Ave.

Heavy Rescue 8-5-5 arrived and staged its equipment in front of the home.

CFD Firefighters remained on scene for approximatley 2 hours before returning home to Cutchogue.

As CFD was responding to the fire, EMS crews simuletaneously handled an EMS alarm at the NAPA Auto Parts Store.
