On Wednesday night, the Cutchogue FD Junior Firefighters participated in CPR/AED training as part of their monthly meeting night.

Twenty junior firefighters along with CFD's newest members joined together to take advantage of the opportunity to become certified in CPR, an important step in being prepared to handle sudden cardiac emergencies.

In addition to CPR, the Juniors had an opportunity to work side by side with CFD Firefighters and EMT's who took the time to teach the class.

Each participant will be receiving an American Heart Association CPR certification card for their successful completion of the course.

This class is just one example of how this dedicated group of youths continue to learn about the different jobs that the CFD Firefighters and EMT's do on a regular basis, and how they can help the community.

The CFD junior firefighter program is open to any youths of the Cutchogue Fire District between the ages of 11-17. The group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the firehouse.

Anyone interested in joining is urged to contact the firehouse for more information.
