CFD Responds to a Pair of Accidents on Friday

On Friday October 30th members of the Cutchogue Fire Department responded to two seperate Motor Vehicle Accidents over the course of the day.

The first accident occurred at 11:50 am, on State Route 25 infront of the King Kullen Shopping Plaza. CFD units, along with the Southold Town Police arrived two find a two vehicle crash at the entrance to the plaza. Two patients would be transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment for minor injuries. Units remained on scene for approximatley 30 minutes until the roadway was clear to be re-opened.

The second accident of the day occurred at 3:41 p.m. in front of Cutchogue Hardware on State Route 25. A single vehicle had left the road and struck a utility pole. The lone occupant was found to be out of his vehicle upon the arrival of emergency units. He was transported by ambulance to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport with Minor injuries. CFD crews checked the vehicle for any hazards and checked neighboring bussinesses and homes to ensure there was no electrical problems resulting form the accident. Units cleared the scene in 20 minutes.
