Recently, another historical project was completed by Cutchogue Firefighters in an effort to preserve and display important artifacts from our 87 year history.

An original CFD Parade uniform was placed in an a special section of our display case in the headquarters lobby.

The unifom dates back to the United Fire Company No. 1's humble beginnings in 1928.

In late 2013, the Folt's Family of Cutchogue, donated back to the department an original parade uniform that was once worn by Firefighter Milton Folts, a charter member of the United Fire Co. No 1 of the Cutchogue Fire Department.

The Fire Company was organized on February 15, 1928. Milton Folts was one of 51 charter members that are memorialized on a brass plaque on the face of the firehouse's main entrance.

The uniform had been stored in a family home and was returned to CFD to be preserved.

Despite its age, the uniform is in remarkable condition and will be adds to CFD's collection of historical memerobilia.

The uniform was made in May of 1928 by Abe Brown of Greenport, "The home of Good Clothes."

The officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mary Lou Folts for her donation, and thanks her for helping us preserve our rich History.

Thank you to Lt. Peter Zwerlien (Ex-Chief of Port Washington FD) for spearheading this project.
