On Saturday Afternoon,a contingent of Cutchogue Firefighters traveled to the Ridge fire Department to join together with firefighters from several other Suffolk County Fire Departments to pay tribute to fallen Air National Guard Sergeant and Coram resident Louis Bonacasa, as he was laid to rest.

Sgt. Bonacasa was killed in an attack in Afghanistan earlier this week along with Sgt. Joseph Lemm.

Along with 4 Arches created with ladder trucks, Firefighters, community members, and equipment lined the shoulders of Middle Country Road in front of the Ridge Fire Department Headquarters as the motorcade and funeral procession carrying Sergeant Bonacasa passed though, en-route to his final resting place at Calverton National Cemetery.

The officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Sgt. Bonacasa.

We are grateful for the services of all members of the U.S. Armed forces and the sacrifices they make to protect our freedoms.
