Cutchogue Fire Department Competes at 30th Annual Riverhead Motorized Drill

Cutchogue Fire Department’s Panthers racing team collected a few trophies yesterday at the Riverhead Fire Department’s 30th annual motorized tournament yesterday at the Route 58, Riverhead training grounds.

Fifteen volunteer fire departments from across Suffolk County competed in the tournament, which consisted of eight events, both motorized and old-fashioned events, designed to test firefighters’ skills, speed and efficiency.

The Cutchogue Panthers took 4th place in the C-Hose event (at 13.21 seconds) and 5th place in the B-Hose and Motor Pump events.

Overall results of the tournament:
1st Place – West Sayville
2nd Place – Islip
3rd – 4th Place – N. Lindenhurst and Central Islip (tie)
5th Place – Lindenhurst
