On Wednesday Morning February 25th the Greenport Fire Department assisted CFD with the upgrading of our high band radio system.

The Greenport FD was gracious enough to provide the services of their Tower Ladder 8-3-5 so that radio technicians from Roger Radio Two-way Communications could mount a new antenna on our communications pole located behind the firehouse.

With a ladder able to extend 102 feet high, technicians were able to easily reach the top of the pole while working safely from tower ladder's bucket.

The addition of this new antenna will allow CFD to utilize an additional high-band repeater channel during emergencies and events. The UHF channel will operate in the 453 MHz range when placed in service, and will greatly improve our range and communication capabilities.

The Cutchogue Fire Department and the Commissioners of the Cutchogue Fire District would like to thank the Greenport Fire Department for their assistance in this project.

Thank You to Greenport Assistant Chief Ken White and Ex-Chief Halsey Staples who spent the morning in Cutchogue operating the ladder truck and assisting the crew.
