At the June meeting of the United Fire Company No. 1, six members of the Cutchogue Fire Department Fire Police Squad were honored for their continued service to the Department and community.

Douglas Kronenberg, the Region 7 Director from the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York was on hand to make a special presentation to honor members who have served the community for over 50 years and have been members of the Fire Police Squad for a minimum of 5 years.

Fire Police members provide an important, and at times invaluable service at emergency scenes.

Members routinely help to ensure the safety of the public and fellow firefighters by providing traffic control on the roadways, and securing perimeters around the scene of emergencies and public events such as parades.

What often may go unnoticed, is that these members spend often countless hours and extended time on these assignments to ensure the safety of others.

The 6 members honored were:

John Zaveski - 67 years of service
Andre Cybulksi - 63 Years of service
Ex-Chief Matthew Martin - 60 Years of Service
Ex-Chief John Lademann - 59 Years of Service
Robert Doroski - 55 Years of Service
Jack Kane - 55 years of Service

Each member was presented with a certificate of Appreciation from the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York.

These members represent at total of 359 years of combined total service to our Department.

The Chiefs Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department wish to congratulate these members and Thank You for your continued dedication to the the CFD Fire Police Squad, and many years of service to our Community.

Thank you to Douglas Kroneberg and the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York for recognizing our members accomplishments.
