On Wednesday Evening, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department along with many other Nassau and Suffolk Department’s came together to honor fallen NYPD Detective Brian Simonsen who was tragically killed in the line off duty Tuesday evening.

Members of both the Mattituck and Cutchogue Fire Deparment lined the roadway of Route 25 in Mattituck, and used the Deparment's ladder trucks to form a flag arch to pay their respects, as procession carrying Det. Simonsen passed through town on the way to the Defriest-Grattan Funeral home in Mattituck.

Firefighters from across Nassau County and Suffolk County setup flag arches along the Long Island Expressway and other roads to honor and salute the procession as it drove from New York City to Suffolk County.
