Contruction worker Airlifted after Suffering Hand Injury

On Friday Morning just before noon, the Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched to a traumatic injury at a construction site on Schoolhouse Rd.

EMS personnel arrived to find a construction worker who had suffered a severe injury to his hand while working at the location

With the Assistance of the local Stony Brook University Hospital Paramedic / First Responder unit, EMS personnel treated and packaged the patient for transport to the hospital.

Because of the nature of the injury The patient was transported by Suffolk County Police Medi-vac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital.

The helicopter landed nearby at the Cutchogue Fire Department where additional firefighters and fire police stood by to make the area safe for landing take off.
