The Chiefs officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the members of the New York State Champion, Mattituck High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse team.

The team once again captured the state class D championship after winning their final game Saturday in the NYS finals in Cortland.

This is the second Lacrosse State Championship in school history winning back to back State Championships in 2018 & 2019.

To celebrate the occasion, members of the Cutchogue, and Mattituck Fire Departments, as well as the Southold Town Police escorted the team bus through town with lights and sirens on its way home to the Mattituck High School where the team was greeted by a crowd of family, friends and community members.

We would like to congratulate the entire team on your accomplishments.

We also congratulate CFD Firefighter Willie Burns and the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team who won the Long Island Championship last week and were welcomed home in a similar fashion.

Willie Burns is an Ex-Captain of the CFD Juniors and a senior at MHS.

We were proud to be part of your victory celebrations and welcome you back home.

Congratulations from CFD!
