Early Monday Morning around 3:30 a.m. the Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 48. near Silver Colt Rd in Cutchogue.

Police and Fire Department units arrived to discover a single vehicle accident in which an eastbound car had drifted off the road struck a street sign, then veered across the median and rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was able to self extricate himself from the vehicle and was suffering from minor injuries.

The patient was treated by the CFD Rescue Squad and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.

CFD firefighters checked the vehicle for any hazards and stood by on scene for approximately 1/2 hour until the vehicle could be removed from the roadway.
